Hunterís Education Course with the Ohio Department

This course is provided by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Register using the following website: GMPL will have the study books available here for patrons to take and study. 
Class size limited to 30.  Registration is required.

Do you have a question that our Reference Staff might help you with?  Use the email address on the GMPL homepage to send that question to us at and we will help you.  Please remember to be as specific and complete as possible concerning what information you are seeking and how we should respond to your question (phone, email, mail).  You will receive a response within 24 hours of your message.
We cannot reserve materials through email, but you can ask at the Circulation Desk about creating a PIN for your account so you can access it online.  This allows you to place holds and renew materials from home.

Computer User Classes
The GMPL offers a variety of beginner-level computer classes for patrons of all ages.  Computer classes at the Library are limited to a maximum of 6 patrons to allow for more hands-on instruction.   For a list of available classes please go to computer class page.  Remember to check the Libraryís event calendar, the Rural-Urban Record, our website and in-building signage for the schedule of upcoming computer classes.  Individual computer tutorials may be scheduled upon request, but availability may be limited.  Please ask or call the Reference Desk (440-926-3317) for more information or to schedule a tutorial.

Interlibrary Loan Services
If GMPL does not have a certain item you are looking for, we can borrow that item from another library for you.  Items will typically arrive within 1-2 weeks depending on the when the lending library ships the materials.
Items marked as New and certain Audiovisual materials are not available for Interlibrary loan.

Adult Programming and Clubs
GMPL strives to offer a variety of educational and entertaining programs to our community, the majority being free of charge to participants.  The Skein Gang is a group run by the Library that meets on a regular basis, ask at the Circulation Desk to more information or to signup.  GMPL also has an Adult Summer Reading program in which winners are drawn weekly for prize baskets.

Craft & Chat Group
Tuesday, September 4; 6 - 8 p.m.

Join us at this open crafting session for all hobbies and crafts.  Registration is not required.

Writer's Group
Thursday, September 13; 6 - 8 p.m.
Thursday, September 27; 6 - 8 p.m.
Attention Writers.  Join the Grafton-Midview Public Library Writer's Group.  We meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Thursday.  The group is open to writers of all genres and all skill levels.  Perfect your writing through exercises, critiques, and guest speakers.  Call the Library for more details.

Yoga for Adults
Saturday, September 15; 11 a.m. - 12 p.m
Nikki Rogers leads this one-hour yoga session for all levels. Participants should wear comfortable clothing, bring a yoga mat or blanket & bring a water bottle.  Registration is not required.

Self Defense for Women Only
Wednesday, September 19; 6 - 9 p.m.
"B.R.A.T. Be Ready at All Times- A Women's Guide to Safety" by Cpl. Jim Martin. This is a self- defense class for women only- NO MEN (cont.) ALLOWED.  Class will be hands-on so participants should wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. The class is taught by Corporal Jim Martin from Lorain  County Sheriff's Office and will be held at the Community Room in North Park in Grafton.  Registration required.

Adult Social Hour - Recipe Exchange
Thursday, September 20; 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Social Hour will host a recipe exchange this month! Participants may bring food to share along with its recipe. Recipe cards will be available for patrons to write on.  What a yummy way to socialize. While youíre chatting, take a look at some new cookbooks that will be featured at this event.  Register online here.

LifeShare Blood Drive
Thursday, September 20; 4:30 - 7:30 p.m.
LifeShare will host a blood drive @ GMPL. Donors will receive a FREE movie pass for donating.  Donors must be 16 with parental consent and have photo ID.

GMPL Book Club
Tuesday, September 25; 7 - 8 p.m. and Wednesday, September 26; 10 - 11 a.m.
Book Club is food for the brain, nourishment for the soul and arousal for the senses, so come join us and be fed, nourished and aroused.  Don't miss out on the stimulating conversation.  Light refreshments served and registration required.
